Health diplomacy in times of pandemic

BISA unites and presents a very topical event on Health diplomacy in times of pandemic. The Foreign Policy Working Group in cooperation with the Global Health Working Group host two interesting talks that aim to explore different aspects of global health during emergencies. 

Prof Stefan Elbe (Professor of International Relations and Director of the Centre for Global Health Policy, the University of Sussex) will analyse the  rise of bioinformational diplomacy, i.e. the emerging field of tensions, sensitivities, practices, and enabling instruments surrounding the timely international exchange of bioinformation.

Dr Daniela Irrera (Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations, University of Catania) will discuss the current multilateral cooperation in the field of public health and how the EU-WHO policy cooperation need to address the challenges posed by the post-pandemic world. 

The event will be chaired by FPWG Convenor, Marianna Charountaki, University of Lincoln.

The seminar will take place via Zoom on 7 May 2021 from 12-1 pm (UK time).
