Politics and Perception in Climate Diplomacy

Europe/London
Description

COP26, the United Nations' annual climate change conference, will be hosted by the United Kingdom this November. The most important summit since COP21, it will seek commitment, ambition and action. But what political opportunities and obstacles face COP26? And how, if at all, can competing perceptions of climate diplomacy be reconciled, for ambitions to be met, and action taken? This event is a chance for the international environmental politics community to discuss the political and reputational issues animating COP26, the lessons learned from COP21, and the role of competing (non)state perceptions in climate diplomacy today.

Speakers:

Prof John Vogler (Keele University)

Vegard Tørstad (European University Institute)
