The BISA Working Group on Emotions in Politics and IR is inviting postgraduate students and early career researchers to explore methodological issues and challenges in researching emotion and affect in International Relations. Growing emotion/affect studies in IR have attempted to pluralise methodologies, drawing on multi-disciplinary knowledge, techniques, and ethical reflections. This workshop will invite dialogue about experiences, techniques, and insights about methodology/method, knowledge-production, reflectivity, and ethics in emotion/affect research. It will offer a space for students to engage with in-depth discussion with experienced researchers and think through deeper structures and implications of their research projects.
Applicants should send a short biography and an abstract stipulating methodological considerations in their research project (max. 300 words) by February 24, 2022.
