In 2022, NATO published its new Strategic Concept in the midst of the war in Ukraine, growing great power rivalry and the aftershocks of the Covid-19 pandemic. The three editors Jason Blessing, Katherine Kjellström Elgin, and Nele Marianne Ewers-Peters will present their recently published edited volume entitled NATO 2030: Towards a New Strategic Concept and Beyond (Brookings, 2021). The book reflects on NATO’s future challenges from different angles, including the changing external security environment, shifting internal dynamics, and the evolution in warfare.
