In a second iteration of the non-academic careers workshop, PGN brings you an exciting panel comprising people who pursued their PhD in various disciplines and chart a successful career path outside of academia. Attend this workshop to learn more about how to navigate careers in academia and beyond and how to put your PhD degree to use best! This will be followed by a general discussion and a Q&A round.

 

About our panellists:

 

Dr Dorina Baltag obtained her PhD in Diplomacy and International Governance at Loughborough University, where she was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship by the European Commission. She is interested in creating synergies between academia and entrepreneurship and she is currently working as an independent researcher.

 

Dr Nathalie Tocci is the Director of the Istituto Affari Internazionali, Honorary Professor at the University of Tübingen, independent and non-executive board member of the energy company Eni and Europe’s Futures fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen, IWM). She has held research positions at the Centre for European Policy Studies, Brussels, the Transatlantic Academy, Washington, and the European University Institute, Florence, and has taught at the College of Europe, Bruges. Her research interests include European integration and European foreign policy, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, transatlantic relations, multilateralism, conflict resolution, energy, climate and defence.

 

Dr Mariah Loukou is a Research & Enterprise Policy Officer at City, University of London. She completed her Master’s degree in Intelligence and International Security from King's College and has worked in various departments at City prior to joining Research and Enterprise.
