Description
This paper attempts to understand the relation between biopolitical and thanatopolitical
institutions, which are the disciplinary institutions. How the identities are shattered in
thanatopolitical institution, which seeks to dehumanize the population that it houses.
Guantanamo portrays the ways that how this dehumanization and torture are experienced by the protagonist. The prisoners are identified as terrorist in such a manner that they seem to be cease to be humans at all. The text ends without the release of any character, leading to indefinite and dark tunnel of detention. This study aims at describing protagonist's total lack of agency and psychological effects of this imprisonment and torture.
