Description
Soon after Bangladesh started to take part in the UN mission, it became actively engaged particularly since the post cold war period which coincided with the number of conflicts and mission being sent by the UN. The top five peacekeepers that provide blue helmets and risking their men and women in uniform are largely from the global south which are India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Rwanda etc. The present problem of the UN financial crisis becomes difficult for the developing world to keep sending troops without regular fiscal assistance. Against this backdrop, the great powers and the western countries need to reassess their commitment to financial aid to circumvent this problem. The paper wants to scrutinise how and what stimulates Bangladesh to have been able to robustly contribute in such a high profile manner amid the homegrown instability. The problem within the country is deemed considered contrasting to such huge support which is notably laudable. Bangladesh notwithstanding its economic odds continues to send its troops in the conflict zones and continue to work for keeping the peace when required. it is equally important for the West and Big Powers to be steady with their financial onuses towards the mandated missions. Thus far the unsullied functioning of the missions has to be meted out with pragmatically through a well-adjusted modus operandi.
