Description

Iran has been gripped by the most widespread anti-establishment protests in years since late December 2025, erupting first in Tehran’s historic Grand Bazaar over economic crisis quickly spreading to all 31 provinces, even to smallest most rural areas.

These protests turned into widespread bloodshed, by violent crackdowns, mark a critical turning point: They represent the largest challenge to the Islamic Republic since the 2022 Woman, Life, Freedom movement sparked by Mahsa Amini’s death, but with a sharper focus on regime change rather than reform alone.

We invite all BISA members to this timely event to hear from experts offering their analysis about different aspects of Iran’s recent developments.
