This study examines how the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into governance systems is transforming the cognitive and institutional dimensions of political leadership. Drawing on theories of political psychology and organizational decision-making, it introduces the concept of technologically mediated leadership—a framework for understanding how algorithmic decision-support systems reshape the boundaries between human judgment and machine computation. Combining leadership trait analysis (LTA), computational text analytics, and comparative case studies of the United States, China, and Russia, the study investigates how leaders’ cognitive traits influence their engagement with AI tools in foreign policy, national security, and crisis management. Empirical analysis traces how AI adoption modifies decision speed, information processing, and accountability structures within both democratic and authoritarian systems. The findings suggest that AI-driven governance reconfigures not only the informational environments of leaders but also the psychological and ethical foundations of authority itself. By integrating behavioral analysis with computational methods, this article advances a novel framework for analyzing leadership and legitimacy in the algorithmic age of global governance.
