Description

This event, which marks the passage of 20 years since the Republic of Cyprus acceded to the European Union and 50 years since Turkey invaded the Republic, aims to explore the foreign policy orientation and geopolitical role of the Republic, the only EU member to be subject to an ongoing occupation.  The event further reflects on Cypriot foreign policy prospects and debates as to whether the EU can contribute to a lawful end to the occupation, and thus the resolution of the Cypriot Issue.
